Hey There....
While we all know, by sense and even by science, as to why women have nipples- to feed babies, right ?
So, in this article we are gonna look at this from a simplified biological point of view.
While from Darwinian point of natural selection, male nipples seem to serve no real function and by now should have been bred out of the species, and since we still posses them, even after such an evolutionary race of changes over time, it means, it serves at least some function, if not that necessary for life.
So let's first discuss a bit why human have nipples anyway.....
Well, that needs a bit of biology here :-
during the development of embryo, basically whether the child will be a male or female is decided by sixth or seventh week, mark that one, before that, the embryonic development is the same, the same structures are formed in both cases, and like many more nipples also form within these initial weeks, and thus it doesn't matter if you are gonna be a boy or a girl, you are going to have those two little projections on your chest, simply because, it's part of the basic body design, decided even before determination of your gender.
While later during gestation, or say during embryonic development, female embryos, lacking the Y- chromosome will undergo changes in mammary cells, starting with the development of a pit at the center of each nipple, that connects to the lactiferous duct, that brings out the mother's milk.
Well remember, this happens even in males to some extent. It's strange but it's true that even males have, rather say, males as well as females have mammary glands and hence posses the ability to lactate, though not that developed in case of males.
So, if you are a man, you could have fed your breast milk to your child !! Yahh !! sounds weird, right?
Now, let's come to the most important part...
Honestly, there's not that much of it, but stay right there, you are gonna find it amazing.
While male nipples are considered to be vestigial, but they are there for some purpose, at least.they are as said earlier, remnants of fetal development.
Nipples actually contains a dense supply of nerves, and when it comes to the nervous system, it comes to sensation and stimulation. As such, nipples are considered to be a secondary sex characteristic along with pubic hair and stuffs, like widened hip and enlarged breasts in women and facial hair and an Adam's apple in men.
So, like female nipple, male nipple is as well quite sensitive and can contribute to sexual arousal when stimulated. More on that, the male nipples are actually even more prone to such stimulation.
So basically out of the whole book, the one firm reason males have nipples down there, still, is because of sexual pleasure and a few good moments with your partner !
so it's not at all a good idea to shave off your nipples, cause they seem totally useless to you.
